Lady Gaga To Release Monster Ball DVD, Remix Album

Gaga will also release a package option, Born This Way: The Collection, that includes the DVD and the original and remix albums.

For anyone who couldn't make it to Madison Square Garden to catch Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour or didn't catch the HBO special Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden, don't fret. Mother Monster has your back.

Lady Gaga's Emmy Award-winning Monster Ball concert special will be released on DVD on November 21. The disc will include exclusive, previously unreleased footage.

If that's not enough for the Little Monsters out there, Born This Way the Remix album will also be available that same day. It'll feature 14 songs remixed by a number of DJs and artists, including breakout indie band Foster the People, Michael Woods and the Weeknd. For those looking for more options, Gaga has plans to bundle those two items together with her original Born This Way album for the ultimate Gaga gift, Born This Way: The Collection.

While fans eagerly await news of what Gaga's next single off the chart-topping BTW will be, she's certainly been keeping busy, including beginning work on a follow-up album. "I'm actually already working on my next album," she said. "So I've been working on that. I've been planning the next tour, which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look. I'm also planning my next music video. I have lots of things to do, but in truth, I feel like I'm the most alive when I'm onstage."

Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Nirvana Among O Music Award Nominees

Katy Perry, Odd Future, Demi Lovato will also face off on October 31 in categories like Oops! I Did It Online and Fan Army FTW.
By Gil Kaufman

The list of nominees runs from Justin Bieber to Courtney Love, Britney Spears, Scissor Sisters, Katy Perry, Bjork, Nirvana, Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg, and that can only mean one thing: It must be time for the O Music Awards again.

When MTV launched its first-annual digital music celebration earlier this year, we promised that it would be like no other awards show, with trophies handed out before, after and during the show, as well as throughout the year.

Sticking to that plan, the O Awards will return for a second round on October 31, with some of the new categories coming courtesy of user suggestions.

Among the five new user-generated categories are "Oops! I Did It Online," in which over-sharing celebs such as Sinead O'Connor and T-Pain will face off against the Game and Courtney Love; and Best Artist with a Cameraphone, which pits Demi Lovato against Bieber, Young the Giant, Katy Perry, the Deftones and Shiny Toy Guns. The other new categories include Best Web Born Artist (MNDR, Odd Future, the Weeknd), Best Vintage Viral Video (Metallica, Nirvana, Notorious B.I.G., O'Connor) and Best Lyrics Video (Perry, Joe Jonas, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Perri).

Among Gaga's two nominations are Fan Army FTW — in which she'll square off with the followers of Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Lovato, ICP, Adam Lambert and Tokio Hotel — and Must Follow Artist on Twitter, in which she faces Cher, Snoop Dogg, Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and Blake Shelton.

The O Music Awards will also honor a number of artists who are really good at this whole online thing, with Bjork, Chris Milk, Girl Talk and the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne vying for the Digital Genius Award.

The other categories include: Best Fan Cover, Hottest Music NILF (think about it), WTF I Love This Award (online craziness), the self-explanatory Too Much Ass for TV award, Most Outrageous Tweet and Best Music Forum. There are also awards coming for Most Innovative Festival, Best Music App, Best Music Hack, Beyond the Blog and Most Addictive Social Music Service, which includes such faves as Spotify, Turntable.fm and Rdio.

The first edition of the awards featured performances by Mumford & Sons, Foster the People, Lupe Fiasco, Matt & Kim and a world record freestyle by Chiddy Bang's Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege

The O Music Award's first-time winners included Gaga (Most Innovative Artist and Must Follow Artist on Twitter), Kanye West (Best Tweet), Tokio Hotel's Aliens (Fan Army FTW), Thirty Seconds to Mars (NSFW Music Video), Aquarium Drunkard (Best Independent Music Blog) and MJJ Fan Community (Best Fan Forum).

The O Music Awards 2 will unfold on Halloween on OMUsicAwards.com, as well as MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com, LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com. Fans can vote for their favorites at OMUsicAwards.com.

Beyonce's 'Countdown' Video: A Pop-Culture Cheat Sheet

We analyze the Mod references and more as B does her best 'Funny Face' in new Technicolor clip.
By Rebecca Thomas

Beyonce in the "Countdown" video
Photo: Columbia

Beatniks, bobby socks and ... Beyoncé? On Thursday night, King B premiered her eagerly anticipated, Adria Petty-directed "Countdown" video, doing a bit of time travel back to the Swinging Sixties.

The colorful clip (if you doubt it, check out the glorious "Countdown" GIF Wall our pals at Buzzworthy cooked up!) is packed with references and looks — spanning the '60s to the '80s, from vintage Vogue covers to a head-to-toe homage to the Hollywood musical "Funny Face."

Check out what we spotted, and let us know what we missed!

The Banana Dance: Josephine Baker was just too hot for these United States, so she took her provocative act to the one place where a black girl in the 1920s could get down without the prude police knocking down your door: Paris. While B isn't topless with a fistful of ripe Chiquita bananas strung around her waist, she does La Baker proud in a series of twirls and booty-popping twists.

"Blow-Up": Influential Italian filmmaker Michelangelo Antonioni captured London's Mod scene in this 1966 flick. "Countdown" not only recalls the film's Technicolor glow and quick-cut technique, but B's exaggerated high-fashion poses also feel inspired by the ones depicted in the motion picture.

"Fame": Ragtag bunch of gifteds dance on tables at a New York City performing arts high school in early-80s TV series. Their leader (played by Debbie Allen) kicked off each episode with a pep talk about the high price of fame, but it's the studio and the modern dance duds that come to mind when we watch Petty's 2011 clip.

"Flashdance": Pittsburgh welder/exotic dancer has her heart set on getting into a prestigious ballet company in the 1983 cult classic. King B tugs at the shoulder of her gray sweatshirt, and pop culture welcomes another Jennifer Beals homage into the universe.

"Funny Face": A gamine Audrey Hepburn dons beatnik black in the West Village in this 1957 Fred Astaire musical. From the bunched white socks and loafers to the fancy footwork, Beyoncé kicks off "Countdown" by nailing the silver-screen queen's iconic look — and dusts off the Bebop moves too!

Check out the photos! Pop Culture References In Beyonce's 'Countdown'

The Gap: Americans presumably bought khakis in record numbers in 1998, the same year the retailer launched an ad campaign featuring swing dancers in their pleated pants. The commercial comes rushing back when B's suddenly surrounded by khaki-clad hoofers.

"Glass Pieces": Set to a Phillip Glass composition, Broadway giant Jerome Robbins created the work for the New York City Ballet. Could B's team have been checking out the piece when they picked out those colorful costumes and choreographed the airy footwork?

"I Wanna Dance With Somebody": Flashing fluorescent backdrops with monochromatic DayGlo outfit changes to match. The black-and-white tiled floor, Crayola-box makeup, even an assortment of wide-band hair bows — it's all there in Brian Grant's 1987 clip for Whitney Houston, and now it's in B's extravaganza.

Luna, Donyale: In March 1966, Detroit native became first black model to cover British Vogue, striking the eye-between-the-fingers pose for famed photog David Bailey. Beyonce, looking very Luna, shows off similar handwork.

Mondrian, Piet: Early-20th century Dutch artist's primary color-drenched, colorblock pieces were hallmark of his Neo-Plasticism style. The grid-like backgrounds in Beyoncé's visual look like they could have been painted by Piet.

Quant, Mary: Fashion/cosmetics designer reigned in the swinging '60s. Superstar's hair and makeup job looks exactly like a popular ad for the brand.

The Supremes: Motown girl group; legends. No one does Diana like the "Dreamgirl," who shakes it in a sparkly silver minidress and bouffant wig.

"Valley of the Dolls": Campy 1967 film based on novel by Jacqueline Susann about three 20-somethings with Big Apple dreams who succumb to drugs (dolls) and drama. B's pink nightdress with purple hair bow look reminds us of the movie's promotional poster.

Versace: Look no further than vintage Versace ads for clues about the juicy, rainbow-bright bodysuits that B pairs with a striped, wide-brim chapeau.

"West Side Story": Jets and Sharks knew the only way to settle a turf war was ... a dance-off! Dance master Jerome Robbins worked up a snaps-heavy number for the theatrical release. A B snaps to that.

Are 'Bachelorette' Couple Ali & Roberto Splitting?

Are 'Bachelorette' Couple Ali & Roberto Splitting?

In August, The Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky announced that she and Roberto Martinez had postponed their wedding because of her kickboxing injury. But there has been no wedding announcement since then -- and Us Weekly claims that couple has bigger problems than an a fractured femur.

"Their relationship has been tumultuous since day one," a friend tells Us. They're either extremely happy or can't stand each other."

And right now, says the magazine, it's the latter. Us reports that Fedotowsky, 27, and Martinez have been stressed out by long work hours, causing them to be at each other's throats all the time. After one major fight, says a source, "Ali was in tears. She's miserable in the relationship and he is too."

"They bring out the worst in each other," another friend agrees.

Fedotowsky and Martinez's wedding was originally supposed to air as a special on ABC, the network that brought them together. While they've been postponing, another couple may have stolen their thunder: Life & Style reports that Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and her fiance J.P. Rosenbaum are working with ABC on a wedding special for the coming spring.

'Dolphin Tale' Slays 'Lion King' At Box Office

'Dolphin' and Brad Pitt's 'Moneyball' push last week's #1 to #3.
By Ryan J. Downey

"Dolphin Tale"
Photo: Warner Bros.

A bunch of animals (and Brad Pitt) fended off competition from four new films over the weekend. "Dolphin Tale," "Moneyball" and "The Lion King" (in 3-D) took the top three spots at the weekend box office, respectively, with the Seth Rogen- and Joseph Gordon-Levitt-starring "50/50" achieving moderate business. "Courageous" did well considering its budget and range of release, while "Dream House" and Anna Faris' "What's Your Number?" tanked.

"Dolphin Tale" and "Moneyball" were neck and neck for the spot behind reigning champ "The Lion King" when they first entered theaters. But over the weekend, the story of Winter the dolphin swam past both of those films to become the #1 movie in America.

"Dolphin Tale" earned $14.2 million during its second weekend of release according to studio estimates, which brought its domestic total to $37.5 million. Pitt's "Moneyball" was right behind with $12.5 million for a $38.5 million total. The re-release of "The Lion King" dropped to #3 but still earned enough ($11.1 million, to be exact) to push it past "Spider Man" in the all-time box-office top 10. The Disney giant has made $408.2 million since it was first released in 1994.

"50/50" was #4 with $8.9 million, which was the lowest opening for any Seth Rogen movie. However, the dramedy's overwhelmingly positive reviews (it sat at 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer at press time) and reportedly modest production budget make that a respectable, if underwhelming, debut. "50/50" co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt's "Hesher," by contrast, made just $382,946 domestically during its 12-week run in theaters earlier this year.

Made for just $2 million, "Courageous" played on roughly 1,000 fewer screens than the other new releases and enjoyed the fifth-biggest opening for a Christian-based movie, behind "The Passion of the Christ" and the "Chronicles of Narnia." The film, which centers on a group of police officers affected by tragedy, opened at #5 with $8.8 million.

"Dream House" cost a reported $50 million to produce and opened at #6 with just $8.2 million. The haunted-house thriller stars real-life married couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz. Only 8 percent of film critics reviewed the film favorably, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

"What's Your Number?" fared the worst of the weekend's new releases. The Anna Faris comedy was #8 with $5.6 million, which is less than half of the opening number of Faris' 2008 movie "The House Bunny."

Internationally, "The Smurfs" remained #1 for an eighth consecutive weekend.

Next weekend's new releases include Hugh Jackman's "Real Steel," the Ryan Gosling/George Clooney political scandal flick "The Ides of March" and Clive Owen's "The Intruders," all three of which have been embraced by most critics thus far.

Check out everything we've got on "Dolphin Tale" and "Moneyball."

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Tiffani Thiessen Shower Mom-to-Be Lindsay Price With Baby Gifts!

Lindsay Price was the center of attention at her LA baby shower yesterday where her mother, Dianne, and friends including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tiffani Thiessen, Rebecca Romijn, Sara Rue, and Jaime Ray Newman celebrated the new mom-to-be. SMG and Lindsay go way back to their early days on the daytime soap All My Children, though Lindsay is taking a break from TV while Sarah can be seen on her new primetime drama, Ringer. Lindsay also worked on the small screen with Tiffani when the pair teamed up with Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, and Luke Perry on the original 90210. In real life, Lindsay's found her leading man in professional chef Curtis Stone, who didn't join in the baby shower festivities, which were decorated in gender-neutral colors. Curtis says he's "very excited to be a dad" and revealed that Lindsay is doing "really good" with her pregnancy. Lindsay has a few more weeks to go until the birth of her first child, but soon thereafter she and Curtis will likely be scheduling playdates with their famous friends.

MTV Exclusive: Lady Gaga To Premiere Film At Paris Fashion Week

Singer will debut the film during the Mugler fashion show.
By Jocelyn Vena

Lady Gaga is set to give her Little Monsters a big surprise at Paris Fashion Week next Wednesday. MTV News can exclusively announce that Mother Monster will debut a brand-new short film during the spring/summer 2012 fashion show for the Mugler Women's Wear Collection in Paris next week.

The film was directed by "Yoü and I" fashion-film directors and fashion photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the creative direction of Nicola Formichetti, Mugler's creative director and Gaga's stylist.

The film will feature a previously-unreleased remix of one of Gaga's songs. For those not lucky enough to attend, a special edit of the film will drop the following day online. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes still, fans are teased with a peek at Gaga's face and her long, straight blond hair. In addition, starting Monday, Mugler.tumblr.com will feature live blogging from Mugler's Atelier.

While little is known about what the Haus of Gaga have up their sleeve for this latest film, the clapper board does reveal some hints. The date on the board is 09.20.2011, perhaps a hint as to when Gaga, Formichetti, and Inez and Vinoodh shot the video.

This isn't the first time Gaga and Mugler have collaborated in this way. Besides the fact that Formichetti is her stylist, she's also given fans brand-new music at his shows. In January, she debuted a remix of her Born This Way track "Scheiße" at a Mugler fashion show. Then in March, Gaga not only walked in a Mugler show, she also debuted her song "Government Hooker" during the same show.

Experts agree that the Mugler/Gaga relationship is one of the best in the business. "Gaga working with people like Nicola Formichetti has allowed designers like him and like the late Alexander McQueen to step out of the world of high fashion, which is often perceived of as elite, and become part of the mainstream music landscape as she's used high fashion to build her own personal musical narrative," MTV Buzzworthy blog editor Tamar Anitai said.

MTV Style blog editor Mary H.K. Choi calls their work together "a pop culture moment. ... I think we can all agree that Lady Gaga's relationship with Nicola Formichetti has been entirely synergistic," she said. "When she walked the Mugler runway in Paris last season, not only did she model with aplomb, but her debut of 'Government Hooker' galvanized the show as a pop culture moment. The clothing was beautiful, granted, very much the sexy, bombastic Mugler aesthetic of the '80s and early '90s, but the confluence of Gaga, her music and Formichetti — all streamed live on Facebook — made the collection a must-see event."

For more on Lady Gaga and her style, visit Style.MTV.com.
